The world we live in today is crazy. Sure, it's probably always been this crazy and we never really knew how bad it was because back in the day we didn't have 24 hour access to all the bad things happening in the world with social media, but you know things are getting out of control when you can't enjoy the simplest things in life without having to look over your shoulder.

Just the other day, as I was walking through a big box store, there was this thought in the back of my mind. "am I safe here? could a disgruntled employee or customer come  through and shoot up the store any minute?" Am I crazy for thinking like that? It's kind of sad, but it's a common occurrence whenever I visit stores, movie theaters and now, fairs.

According to Today's TMJ4, the Wisconsin State Fair, which will be held August 4-14,  will be putting extra security measures in place by putting metal detectors at all of the gates for the very first time; they'll also be used at Summerfest.

According to a spokesperson from the fair, they were planning on using metal detectors before the mass shooting in Orlando, stating that, "We're committed to maintaining a safe and secure fairgrounds, This is another step to continue to do that."

So what do you think? Is this necessary? Will this deter you from going to an event if they added metal detectors?
