This Wisconsin Town Is Worth Every Mile From Rockford
The Prettiest Town in Every US State just came out, and to absolutely no one's surprise, Illinois' choice is pretty clear.
Either these blog sites only go to one place in the Land of Lincoln for their "pretty," or this is one ugly state.
To be fair, after having looked at some of the other cities represented on the list from Architectural Digest, I am having a hard time finding a city other than Galena that can actually compete with the rest of the US.

The Wisconsin Town I'd Recommend Instead
Up north, Architectural Digest said Bailey's Harbor is Wisconsin's prettiest city. I've never been, but for my money, I'd give it to Bayfield. If there's anything in Wisconsin that looks most Galena-esque, it's Bayfield. Seated on the shores of the gorgeous Lake Superior, it is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been. If you go, make sure you take the ferry to the Apostle Islands; you'll be glad you did.
Galena Claims the Crown as Illinois’ Prettiest Town
Most of Illinois is flat, but this favorite weekend getaway for Chicagoans along the Mississippi River is not. Tucked beneath Galena’s rolling hills are well-preserved 19th-century mansions, “you-pick” farms, and activities that celebrate the outdoors, such as horseback riding.
I have been to Galena so many times, and the ride from Rockford, seeing those "rolling hills" in action, remains breathtaking.
