Over the weekend, I made the mistake of thinking I could just "run into" Woodman's really quick and grab a few snacks.  Yeah, that didn't happen.

The moment I walked into the store, I got so overwhelmed.  I guess I haven't been to Woodman's in so long that I forgot how much product there was!  This really isn't your average grocery store, no.  The selection is a thousand times bigger than any grocery store I've ever been to.

I'm walking around the frozen food sections, and they all go on for miles.  The ice cream, the cheese, the yogurt, the meat... it's truly endless.  The most overwhelming moment was walking through the pizza aisle.  When I say "aisle", I mean like a mile-long aisle dedicated to pizza.  Hundreds of different kinds from all different brands, too.  Deep dish, thin crust, rising crust, personal size, family size, you name it and they have it!

After I shared how massive the Woodman's pizza aisle was on TikTok, my followers taught me something new: Woodman's is a Wisconsin-based grocery store.  The first location opened in Janesville!

"Woodman's Markets was founded in 1919, when John Woodman started a produce stand at the corner of Milton and Sherman Avenues in Janesville Wisconsin. Since then, Woodman's has grown to a $2 Billion company with locations all over Wisconsin and northern Illinois." [woodmans]

What really surprised me was that Illinois only has six-seven locations total, one of them being in Rockford!  For a store so massive and well-stocked, I just assumed there'd be way more stores around the Midwest.

Turns out, we're just one of the lucky cities to get a taste of Woodman's!  I heard in Wisconsin, there are about 3-5 aisles dedicated to pizza alone.  That's insane!  I mean, Plymouth is the cheese capital of the world!
