Because what does it really mean to be "easygoing."
Last week I spent the week on Tinder, you know so I could learn everything and pass it on to you guys. So it was pretty fitting that this morning I ran across an article titled "How NOT to describe yourself on an online dating website."
I talked last week about how to make a great profile, what to include and what to leave out and this article took that to the next level, identifying ten of the worst phrases to use in your profile.
I completely agree with numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. So it looks like they did a pretty good job! I'm especially irritated by #3... you enjoy nights in and nights out? Is there a third option you don't enjoy?
I'm fine with #1 and #5, because well, I also love laughing and I'm not really a travel junkie so I'm not super interested in someone who is about to jump on a ship or a plane every other day. So for me that's a little bit of a red flag that I want to know ahead of time. The word junkie probably shouldn't be in your profile at all... unless it's about coffee or ketchup. I'm cool with that.
On second thought I should keep my ketchup junkie-ness to myself.
Here's the list from the Daily Mail, what do you think?
  1. "I'm a real travel junkie."
  2. "I'm easygoing."
  3. "I enjoy nights in and nights out."
  4. "Looking for my partner in crime."
  5. "I love laughing."
  6. "Work hard but play harder."
  7. "I'm searching for my soulmate."
  8. "I'm a little bit crazy."
  9. "I'm looking for my knight in shining armor."
  10. "I'm a nice guy."
