You know what I love about Rockford? I've experienced a lot of firsts here when it comes to food; most notably, the Beef-a-Roo cheese fries. About a week ago I tried something else that was smothered in cheese...and chili...Portillo's chili cheese dog. My boyfriend had been telling me for days that he wanted one (or five) so I surprised him with two jumbo dogs on a cheat meal day, MY cheat meal day. I asked him for one bite and it was pretty good. I wasn't blown away or anything but I thought it was good enough for my very first chili cheese dog experience.

Days later, he came home with two more chili cheese dogs, but they weren't from Portillo's; they were from a relatively unknown place in downtown Rockford, The Spot Café. Now I have to be honest, these dogs were so delicious; I even thought they were better than Portillo's. Most people would say impossible, right? Well it's possible.
