Amazing Bicycle Fix-It Station Is Located In Downtown Belvidere
Located in downtown Belvidere is an amazing fix-it station for bicycles.
Downtown Belvidere Is A Cool Place
When is the last time you have been to downtown Belvidere? It had been a while for me.
Recently, I was in downtown Belvidere for an event. I started talking to one of the residents. She had a lot of pride in her hometown. The woman told me about many good things happening in the area.
I learned that Belvidere has many great shops, restaurants, bars, events, and attractions. It really sounds like a place that I need to spend some more time.
Then I noticed something very unique. In fact, I have never seen anything quite like it before.
Fix-It Station For Bicycles
There was something unusual right by one of the parks in the downtown area. I had to get a closer look. I thought it was cool enough to take a couple of pictures and share them with you.
Check it out for yourself.
How about a closer look?
You might be asking yourself, what is it? Well, it appears to be a fix-it station for bikes.
This area must have a lot of bicycle traffic. Imagine, you are out for a ride. All of a sudden you have a mechanical issue with it.
There is not anywhere to keep tools on your bike, so if it breaks down then you are stuck and going to have to call for a ride home.
With this little station, you might be able to take care of the problem on the spot and continue on with the day. This little unit even includes an air pump for low tires.
I have never seen anything like it before. I think it is a great idea.
How did it get there?
Thanks To SNOBS
I noticed that there was a "SNOBS" sign at the station so when I got home, I had to look it up. See for yourself.
Here is what I found.
SNOBS has a Facebook page, HERE. According to that,
"Serving Needs Of Belvidere Sisters... We are a group of friends with a mission of the betterment of Belvidere."
Looks like this organization is responsible for it.
Here is the annual fundraiser they host to raise money for things like the bicycle fix-it station.
Their next one is coming up on September 11th. For more info, HERE.
