The Chicago White Sox are having their best season in years, and one of the reasons for the sudden resurgence has to do with one of their newest acquisitions.

Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami is a rookie with the White Sox and was already an All-Star and participated in the Home Run Derby. You can say he's off to a great start.

Munetaka Murakami Sparks Chicago White Sox Resurgence

Murakami is also the inspiration for a few new additions to the concession stand at Rate Field. The White Sox have rolled out a couple of new sushi push-pops at the ballpark.

Fans can choose from one of two different varieties, including:

  • Shrimp Tempura Roll: shrimp tempura, cucumber, spicy seafood mix, and teriyaki sauce.
  • California Crunch Roll: crabstick, avocado, cucumber, crispy onions, spicy mayo, and teriyaki sauce.

Each sushi push-pop will run you $23, so be prepared to eat the whole thing because at that price you better know you like it going in.

Available in the 100-level right-field concourse, 500-level left-field concourse, and Lucky's in Section 154, there are three different places you can try the new addition.

If you're wondering what Murakami thinks of the sushi, he hasn't tried it yet but did say he wants to.

Bobblehead Day Magic and a Strong South Side Season

The White Sox just celebrated Murakami's strong start to his major league career with a bobblehead giveaway on Sunday, and he responded by hitting two home runs with 6 RBIs.

Regardless of whether the White Sox make a playoff run, you have to admit it's been a strong season for the South Siders, and if anything else, they at least got some new concessions to enjoy.
