Some days you find stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy. This is one of those stories and one of those days.

Lyle Hinsch is a 4-year-old boy who lives in DeKalb and has been battling cancer ever since he was a year old and diagnosed with a brain tumor. Shortly after that diagnosis, Lyle was undergoing chemo treatments at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago where he first met Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs.

Ever since that first meeting, Lyle Hinsch's fascination with baseball and Anthony Rizzo has intensified, so it only made sense that his Make-A-Wish Foundation request would have something to do with the Cubs, Wrigley Field and Rizzo himself.

Let's fast forward to August 5, 2018, the day Lyle Hinsch and his family got the experience of a lifetime at Wrigley Field.

According to dekalbcountyonline.com, Lyle and his Dad (Peter), Mom (Stephanie), and little sister Vivian drove to Chicago, checked in to their hotel, and were then picked up in a limo and taken to Wrigley Field where they were treated like true VIP's.

They met the Make-A-Wish Coordinator at the VIP entrance to Wrigley, so they got to see a number of players entering the facility. American Airlines was a co-sponsor of the event, so there was also a pilot there in full uniform to greet them. They presented Lyle with several really cool gifts, including a custom-made #44 jersey (the same as Anthony Rizzo) with “Lyle” on the back, and a framed picture of the entrance to Wrigley Field with “Welcome, Lyle” on the famous marquee.

Lyle's family were then given seats next to the Cubs' dugout where they went to wait for a special meeting with Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant.

Here comes the part that really gave me all the good feels.

After some drinks and fun with Bryzzo in the dugout, Lyle was then led out onto the field, hand-in-hand by Anthony Rizzo where they played some catch and had a private heart-to-heart.

Lyle's Dad Peter told dekalbcountyonline.com;

“I don’t know what they said, that was their special moment together.

“Just to see my son being able to play catch with his hero was such a blessing and I’ll never forget that experience. He was just the happiest little kid in the whole world. After all the suffering he had been through, to be able to have that experience was so incredibly perfect.”
