Chicago Cubs Named One of America’s Most-Hated Baseball Teams
A new study by RotoWire showed the most-hated MLB team in every state.
Using rivalries, geographic proximity, and recent postseason matchups, Illinois' most-hated team is the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Cardinals were also the most hated team in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.

RotoWire Study Reveals Most-Hated MLB Teams
No team was more hated, though, than the New York Yankees, which took the top spot in 13 different states. The "other" New York baseball team, the Mets, was called the second most hated in 8 states.
The Cubs weren't left out of the conversation either. They were also called the most hated by four different states, including Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, and, for some strange reason, Arkansas.

Evil Empires and National Grudges
The White Sox didn't make any list, which I think is kind of disappointing. To me, you've got to be doing something wrong if other states' fanbases don't dislike your team. It's almost like they don't care enough, and apathy seems, in a way, even worse.
What I'm saying is, being one of the most-hated teams isn't the worst thing. It usually means you've been winning. The teams nobody hates? Those are the ones nobody thinks about.
