The Rockford Pak District is celebrating teachers this weekend and would like to work with them to bring the Nicholas Conservatory into their classrooms.

Our friend Laura Gibbs Greene shared this with us today during her weekly visit to the morning show. Tune into WROK every Friday morning at 7:25 to hear Laura explain what the area has for you to do over the weekend.

It's Teacher Weekend at the Nicholas Conservatory in Rockford. The immediate benefit for teachers in the area is free admission all weekend for any teacher. Just show your school ID at the counter and you will be granted free admission to the exhibit.

Nicholas Conservatory will also have their experts on hand giving demonstrations of portions of their field trips that they offer through the Park District. In addition to sample field trips, they'll have other educational games and exhibits that you can bring back to your classroom.

Nicholas Conservatory staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have to get your classroom the one of a kind experience of a Nicholas Conservatory field trip.

Also, if you haven't made it to the Nicholas Conservatory yet, make this the weekend to do so.

I had put if off for years until I finally made it there last summer. I was blown away, it's really a jewel of Rockford that sits right next to the river.

Now is a great time to go as well because their orchid exhibit is in full bloom and is always a spectacular sight.
