Beat the Heatwave with one of Illinois’ Best Beer Gardens
Are you ready for this heatwave? We're gearing up for a very warm week and it's time to come up with a plan to enjoy every minute of it.
We had a weird winter here in the Midwest. It wasn't unbearable. It really wasn't. In the last five years or so we've had way worse, the issue with this weird winter is that it never really went away.
Like even last week it was 30 something in the morning and things were freezing.
I guess that's better than multiple giant snowstorms?
Fast forward and this week we're getting July temps in May.
But hey, I guess we'll take it.
You need a few things to enjoy a heatwave in the beginning of May and one of those things is a nice cold beer.
Ok, I know what you're thinking... Michelle you don't even drink beer. And you know what? You're right, but I do understand the combo of a cold beer and a hot day. I'd just rather have a glass of wine.
Which is just fine because the beer garden I'm about to tell you about also has wine.
According to Only in Your State, Riggs Beer Company is one of the top beer gardens to visit on a hot day.
They have indoor and outdoor seating, a long list of locally brewed beers and wine too for those of us who would prefer a Moscato.
Just last week they released their Bavarian Style Pilsner in cans and kegs throughout Central Illinois which was a pretty big deal.
Riggs Beer Company is in Urbana, Illinois and is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
