Breaking news this morning as Belvidere North is on lockdown.

UPDATE: The Belvidere School District announced around 1 p.m. that the lockdown was lifted at Belvidere North, Belvidere Central Middle School and Seth Whitman Middle School.

UPDATE: All Belvidere schools on lockdown.

The Belvidere School District shared a post on Facebook just a few minutes ago alerting the public as to what's going on at Belvidere High School.

According to the post, all schools in the area are currently on lockdown, though there is not information as to why.
