There's officially a new billionaire in Illinois.

Unfortunately, it's probably not you.

Or me.

The most fascinating part of this story, besides a single person winning a billion dollars, is that this person had to call a family member because they didn't believe they had actually won!  Imagine getting that call!

The $1.04M billion Powerball ticket was purchased at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh in Quincy, Illinois for the August 12th drawing.  The winner has finally claimed their prize, chosen to stay anonymous, and elected to take the lump-sum payment.  They told the Illinois Lottery that they're still processing all the emotions that come with winning a jackpot like this.

And I keep thinking about that moment before they called anyone.  Imaging checking your ticket and seeing that you matched everything.  You'd probably check it over and over... and over.  Then you'd probably just sit in silence for a minute.

But here's where I want to take this: forget the boring "what would you do if you won the lottery" question.  I want to know about the stuff you've never been able to afford!

Because we all have something.

Maybe it's a house?

Maybe it's a new car?

Maybe you've always wanted a pool, a boat, an updated kitchen, or go on a vacation where you don't have to look at the price of anything anymore.

Maybe you just want to pay off all your debt!  That'd be nice, too.

So let's say that $1.04 billion suddenly landed in your lap.

What's something you're buying that you've never been able to afford?

I've always wanted to live in the country or somewhere that isn't congested with people.  With that amount of money, I'd definitely have to go into some kind of hiding, right?  That's a scary amount that has people coming for you who you don't even know.

Congrats to that Quincy billionaire, that's a life-changing amount of money!
