Customers in one Illinois neighborhood are furious with their cable provider for not fixing their service because where they lived was too dangerous.

The problem with companies that provide cable, internet, etc... is that if it ever doesn't work, people get extremely angry. Myself included.

I had friends over once and we were watching a very intense movie. All of a sudden, when things really started to get good, the internet just stopped working. The movie then went to a complete stop. We were all shocked and irritated. After spending two hours on the phone with my cable and internet provider, I had to have someone come to my house a few days later and fix the problem. I was livid! It wasn't their fault, it was the dang squirrels that chewed through the cable cords outside. I never did finish that movie...

Comcast has been getting some negative feedback after not going out to customers homes and business to fix outages.

They didn't go to South Side neighborhood because it was just too dangerous according to WGN.

Comcast did release a statement defending their decision:

We received information from the police about the potential for heightened violence in that neighborhood. In an effort to ensure the safety and security of our employees, we made the decision to postpone six scheduled service visits in the neighborhood. We proactively reached out to our customers and worked with them to reschedule the appointments.

Do you think it was completely acceptable for the company to not send their representatives to the service visits?
