Is Illinois Affected By Costco Egg Recall? Here’s What We Know
Shopped at Costco lately? You might need to check your fridge for these eggs asap depending on which state you live in.
Costco has gained a loyal following for its unbeatable value, wide selection, and unique shopping experience. Shoppers appreciate the store's bulk offerings, Kirkland Signature brand, and the membership-based model adds a sense of exclusivity, making customers feel like they're part of a special club.

The Food and Drug Administration has elevated the recall of organic eggs sold at Costco to the highest risk category due to the potential for salmonella contamination.
What does this risk category mean? There is "a reasonable likelihood" that the recalled eggs could lead to serious health issues or even death.
Nearly 11,000 eggs were recalled by New York-based Handsome Brook Farms about a month ago. Luckily, none of the eggs were sold in Illinois Costco stores.
Costco Shoppers: Egg Recall Is Now Highest Risk Level, FDA Says
The 24-egg cartons of organic pasture-raised eggs were under Kirkland Signature, supplied to 25 Costco locations across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Marked with a use-by date of January 6th.
At this time, there have been no reported illnesses.
So, if you've been to Costco in Illinois recently, don't worry. Your eggs aren't part of the recall. There have been many recalls across the country lately, but Illinois has been marked safe from this one. Phew!
