Pot becomes legal in Illinois on January 1, 2020 but you won't be able to smoke it if you live in public housing in Chicago. Could that happen around the state?

Chicago Housing Authority has begun sending letters to residents, informing them that their public aid could be terminated if they're caught smoking weed for recreational or medical purposes on CHA property, according to abc7chicago.com.

With marijuana use still being illegal under federal law, in order for the Chicago Housing Authority to continue receiving funds, they need to follow federal law. Seems like this ban could become state-wide.
