Why Rockford Peeps are Split on Crumbl Cookies Coming to Town

One of the fastest-growing food chains in America, Utah-based Crumbl Cookies, will be opening a new location in Rockford, Illinois.

Let me start with Trish G.'s Facebook comment about the arrival of the sweet and pricey Crumbl Cookies.

I'm not mad!

Trish was responding to something I requested on 97ZOk's Facebook page. And like her, I'm not mad when a new business invests in the Rockford area, local, regional, or national, all business owners who choose us, have my gratitude.

The request was for your thoughts on a particular national business with over 800 locations, that has chosen to open a brand new location in Rockford—a cookie business with thousands of satisfied customers.

While there has been no opening date given (as of 6/12/23), the new Crumbl Cookies will be located In the 6100 block of E. State St, just east of Skechers Shoe Outlet and Portillo's and west of Pearle Vision and Jimmy John's, according to Rockford Register Star.

I guess I'll start with my thoughts.

I'm not mad that Crumbl Cookies will soon be open in Rockford.

My teenage daughter was the first to introduce our family to Crumbl in May 2021. She had been at Woodfield Mall with friends and stopped to get cookies on their way home. There wasn't much left to sample from her pink box of cookies, but we didn't need much to know we had to have more.

Have you ever built a Saturday of errands around a cookie store run? Keep in mind that to get some Crumbl Cookies, the errand running was expanded to a 61-mile radius (Rockford to Schaumburg)

I sampled an OG chocolate chip (required), the classic pink vanilla sugar cookie with real almond frosting, and quite possibly the best lemon cookie ever. It's called the lemonade cookie.
