If you got your hopes all up that the DeKalb Applebee's was re-opening... Well don't

Hopes of that happening have been dashed by what they're saying was a technical error.

The Daily Chronicle shares that the "the 18 positions [that were] posted for the shuttered DeKalb restaurant at 2411 Sycamore Road were [due to] a technical error." This statement was made on behalf of the chains media relations representative with RMH Franchise Holdings.

A technical error. Wow! I'd said it was a big error.

How does something like that happen?

Once the company found out they offered an email for those who applied stating "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The job postings for the closed DeKalb Applebee’s were the result of a technical error. The postings have been removed and all applications have been transferred to the Elgin Applebee’s.”

Apparently the DeKalb closure this past June was one of the "dozens shuttered this year. The company shut down about 100 last year, and said another 80 or so would follow suit this year."

Let's hope they don't make this "technical" error again with the other closed or soon to be closed locations.
