The Dixon Police are the best on Twitter and here's another great reason why.

In a tweet shared to the Dixon Police Twitter yesterday afternoon, they ask people to "STOP. DOING. THIS."

The "this" the Dixon Police (DPD) are referring in the shared iPhone note is using police presence in a way to make young children stop misbehaving.

There isn't a handbook for being a parent so it's understandable that we may make a mistake or two along the way.

However, using the police a way that may scare a young child only enforces negative stereotypes surrounding law enforcement.

Like the tweet from the DPD said: "We want children to run to the police if they're scared, not be scared of the police."
