If you haven't seen the bright neon pink and green signs all around Rockford about the dog that's missing, here's everything you need to know to help search for her!
The other day, I shared a post asking if anyone knew if the small tan dog was still missing after I saw a ton of neon pink signs at nearly every intersection in Rockford. Well, we can now put a face and name to the pup!
Donut, The Small Tan Dog, Is Still Missing In The Rockford Area
Good news: The owner gave me tons of information on Donut's last known whereabouts and shared a photo of her beautiful self!
- Donut is a French Bulldog rescue
- Wearing a pink collar when she escaped her dog walker's leash
- Escaped June 30th, 2024 near Country Club Beach & N. Main Street in Rockford
Bad news: Donut is still missing.
Luckily, there have been sightings of her in the area. The most recent being an unconfirmed (no picture taken) sighting on Tuesday, July 30th at the Winnebago/Boone county line.
Donut's owner, Heather Crislip, shared this message.
"I make posts about Donut every week on local Facebook groups, the Nextdoor and Neighbors apps, and I buy supplies to make more signs to post in areas she’s been seen in— and beyond. She’s very fearful and in survival mode, and any time someone has seen her they unintentionally scare her off and then we don’t get any more sightings for several days/weeks at a time and she’s moved on to a completely different area. Hence why there are a ton of signs, to raise awareness since she is traveling. That’s also why we’re emphasizing to not chase/follow/pursue her if she’s seen."

Donut is still out there, probably exploring as much as she can on this wild adventure! Since Donut won't see this, we're hoping the community can help bring her home safely. Her brother, Dunkin, and their family are missing her dearly!
If you have any information about Donut or have seen her recently, don't hesitate to reach out to Heather (352) 284-4551. Remember, don't chase her!
