The City of Rockford, at the request of the River District Association, will be closing more streets in downtown Rockford.

This is a perfect opportunity to get dad out for some good eats. This was such a beautiful sight last weekend and we're so excited that this will be happening again. In order for downtown restaurants to seat more customers and to be fully compliant with Restore Illinois Phase 3 guidelines, more of State St. will be closed this weekend.

The 200, 300, 400 and 500 blocks of E. State Street will be closed from 3 p.m. on Friday, June 19, to 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 21. Madison Street between E. State Street and Market Street will close at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, June 19, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. That street will close again at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, and will reopen at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.

So many great places to dine and sip this weekend, here's just some of the restaurants and cafes to check out:

  • Taco Betty's
  • Sisters Thai Café
  • Office Night Club
  • Abreo
  • Social
  • Vintage 501 Food Truck
  • Wired Café
  • Woodfire
  • CJ's Lounge
  • LiMaMar

Don't forget about all the amazing shopping opportunities while you're downtown.
