Two sinkholes opened on the property of UW Health SwedishAmerican on Monday, July 15th. Hitting way too close for comfort now.
I've talked about this plenty of times, but I'll say it again: Sinkholes are my #1 fear. Ever. Of all time. Nothing scares me more than knowing I could get sucked into a gigantic hole and vanish off the face of the Earth with no warning or way to escape.
After seeing a sinkhole open in the middle of the road in Machesney Park, another open on a soccer field in Alton, and the humungous sinkhole between Hillsboro and Coffeen, sinkholes are becoming way more common in Illinois than ever.

Well, it's Rockford's turn!
Two Sinkholes Open at Rockford's UW Health SwedishAmerican Parking Lot
On Monday, July 15th, after the flash floods in Rockford, one sinkhole opened at the entrance of UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital. A second one opened near the Emergency Department entrance.
Crews were working on Monday to fix the pavement and refill the sinkholes. Fortunately, no guests or patients were injured.

The horrible flooding across the Stateline the past few days have destroyed roads, yards, homes, and vehicles. Many were injured, stranded in high waters, and a 76-year-old man drowned after being trapped in a pickup truck.
Big thanks to Rockford Officials and city crews for working around the clock to get traffic lights, water damage, and roads fixed as quickly as possible.
