Two individuals abandoned a heavily pregnant cat in the alley at a Rockford animal shelter and the business is now looking for the public's help to locate them.

It's a crime to abandon an animal in Illinois, so what gives people the idea leaving their pets at animal shelters in the middle of the night is at all a better idea?  You're actually more likely to get caught with the amount of security cameras we have these days.

Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Rockford, Illinois posted on Facebook a photo of two individuals who dumped their (very pregnant) cat in the back alley of the sanctuary.

Since they decided NOT to go through the legal surrendering process through the shelter, it has now become a crime for dumping the cat.

Noah's Ark shared this information on Facebook:

"We have video and we will contact Winnebago County Animal Services if you choose not to come forward. Please do not share the names of these individuals in the comments, please call us at 815-962-2767 or email us at noah@noahsarkanimals.org with any information you may have."

To be honest, it's not that difficult to rehome your furbabies - there are resources! Please, if you are thinking, even in the slightest, of leaving your pets somewhere for others to find, don't do it.  Don't catch a charge, just ask for help!

If you know these two individuals, have any leads to their whereabouts, or have any information that will help identify them, don't hesitate to call or email Noah's Ark immediately. (815) 962-2767 or email noah@noahsarkanimals.org.
