Just a few days after a couple abandoned a pregnant cat in the alley of a Rockford animal shelter, someone else left two turtles in a bucket outside the same shelter.

About a week ago, a man and woman were identified after dumping a pregnant cat in the alley of Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Rockford.  Now, the shelter is searching for a woman who abandoned two turtles in a bucket outside their establishment.

To be clear: Abandonment of animals is a crime and punishable by law.  If you need to surrender your pets, please do it in the most humane, and legal, way possible.

Two Turtles In Bucket Abandoned Outside Rockford Animal Shelter

On Facebook, Noah's Ark shared surveillance footage of the woman who left the turtles in their parking lot, in hopes someone would find them.

Here's what they said on Facebook:

"Do you recognize this woman? She drives the white car (pictured) and owns 2 turtles. Less than 15 minutes ago, she waited until no one was in the parking lot and then ran from her car, dropped the bucket containing the 2 turtles in front of our building, and then ran back to her car. This is abandonment and abandonment of animals is a crime punishable by law. If you have any information on this person, please call us at 815-962-2767 or email us at noah@noahsarkanimals.org. If you are this woman and you would like to come forward to surrender these animals the legal way, we can potentially avoid pressing abandonment charges."
