Grab Your Bestie and Score Free Ice Cream from Dairy Queen

It might feel like the beginning of February this week, but it's actually the first week of Spring and that means, free ice cream at Dairy Queen. 

2024 has been a lot of things in it's two and a half months and one of those things is unseasonably warm. Until today as I type this, we've been blessed with slightly more sunshine and mild weather than expected and virtually no snow. This is not normal.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring and here in Rockford, we'll likely be waking up to below freezing temps, which is way closer to normal.

While I'd prefer unseasonably warm weather in the middle of March, at least either way, we get free ice cream from Dairy Queen. Who doesn't want free ice cream?

For the past 8 years, Dairy Queen has gifted us with free ice cream cones to celebrate the first day of spring and unlike many free and discount fast food specials throughout the year, this one doesn't have a technology element to participate.

Sure, Dairy Queen would love if you downloaded their app and become a DQ Rewards member, but you don't have to do either of those things to get the cone.

You just have to show up.
