Whether or not you choose to follow the guidance of Dr. Anthony Fauci is your business, and your business alone. But, Dr. Fauci, along with state and local health officials have given the green light for trick-or-treating next weekend.

The CDC And Other Health Officials Say Go Trick-Or-Treating, But Avoid Crowded Parties

As a father with grown up kids, I learned very quickly that the childhood years race past even faster than my own parents warned me that they would. There are only so many years you have to get out and do things like trick-or-treating with your kids, so take advantage of every opportunity.

With many people having perhaps missed out on going door-to-door for candy last year due to the pandemic, I would expect a pretty good turnout this year unless Northern Illinois weather screws it all up (Halloween looks like it will be dry and in the middle 50s).

The National Retail Federation Expects Up To $10 Billion To Be Spent On Halloween 2021

With a lot of pent-up demand along with that kind of money being spent, it's probably a safe bet that there will be more than enough candy to go around for anyone and everyone who's out ringing doorbells. Plus, I would expect to see some pretty cool costumes being paraded around the neighborhoods (click here to see Rockford's most-Googled Halloween costume).
