How Much Sleet Will Rockford Get Today?

Sleet started to blanket the Rockford area just after 6 a.m. today making travel a bit risky for some.

So how much sleet are we supposed to get today?

The National Weather Service's Chicago office is reporting the Rockford area could see 2 to 3 inches of sleet before the storm is over. Higher amounts of sleet are predicted for the area west of Rockford.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for some light snow later today. Total amounts of sleet and snow could be three inches.

A Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect through 6 p.m. today.
