Illinois ‘American Idol’ Contestant Will Be Featured on Tonight’s Episode

Tonight's episode of 'American Idol' will feature one of our own from Illinois.

Sam Sohmer, you might not know his name yet, but you probably will soon.

Sam is from Wheaton, IL (about 90 minutes Southeast of Rockford) and he is making a big splash in the music community tonight when he will be featured on 'American Idol.'

I got the chance to talk to Sam about his music background, hopes for the future and of course his Idol audition, which included a very strong urge to go to Olive Garden.

Sam's audition will appear on ABC tonight, and I will have a chance to talk to him again tomorrow about what auditioning for 'American Idol' is really all about.
