The Florida Department of Health is warning against travel to Miami, specifically the Wynwood neighborhood, according to mystateline.com.

“We know that Miami is a popular travel destination for Illinoisans and we urge all residents to follow updated CDC recommendations, given that it is now possible to contract Zika virus in the United States,” said IDPH Director Nirav D. Shah in a news release.

“We want to make sure that people traveling to the Miami area have the facts so that they can protect themselves from becoming infected.”

The Illinois Dept of Public health also recommends practicing safe sex or avoid it all together if you or your partner are pregnant or trying to get pregnant if you've recently traveled to the area. Any woman who is pregnant and has recently traveled to the area and believe you may have been exposed, should consult their doctor.
