Do you need a good fright to get you in the Halloween spirit?

For some of the people in my life, the answer would be a resounding "NO" but if you've got folks who love to get their scare on, you're in luck because three of America's creepiest haunted houses are in Illinois.

Hallowlane says HellsGate is a "multi-level mansion filled with secret passages, (and) giant slides to bring you on a complete adventure."

Apparently, there's a money-back offer too.

HellsGate:

Since you were a kid, you've heard about the haunted house with the giant slide, the one hidden out in the woods, the one where you can win your money back, but you were never able to find it... until now!

One spot ahead of HellsGate on the list of scariest haunted houses in the US is Statesville Haunted Prison also in Lockport.

Geez, Lockport got a lock on haunted houses.

Anyway, the 12th ranked Statesville Haunted Prison website says this is the final year for the haunt so grab tickets today if you want to check it out before it's gone forever.

The highest-ranking Illinois haunted house on the list is in Elgin. They call themselves Chicago's #1 haunted house, and coming in at #7 is Evil Intentions Haunted House.

Hallowlane:

Evil Intentions Haunted House made history by becoming the first haunted house in Illinois to be voted to number one by Haunted Illinois and Haunted Chicago in 2017.

All three of these places are pricey when it comes to tickets. Some you can purchase ahead of time and there's also a few that offer speed pass like admission so you can skip the line and immediately get your scares on.

Of these three which one looks the best scariest to you?
