Basically, the Milk Crate Challenge (which is also called the Crate Challenge) involves users attempting to climb a staircase made of plastic milk crates without falling. It might sound simple enough, but there have been some stunning wipe-outs.

Joe Dredge Loves TikTok

It looks like Joe Dredge's favorite app, TikTok has gotten another viral video trend started. If you're not familiar, TikTok has been behind a whole bunch of different "challenges" that their users have flirted with death to complete (and sometimes those flirtations ended up tragically). Here are some of them:

  • Face wax challenge: Covering the entire face with wax, then pulling it all off at once.
  • Corn cob challenge: Trying to eat corn on the cob attached to a power drill (many ended up losing their front teeth)
  • Skull breaker challenge: 3 people jumping side by side as the bookending people kick the middle guy’s feet out from under him. The action sends the person crashing to the ground, landing on their back and hitting their head in the process.
  • The black-out challenge: TikTok users attempted to choke themselves until they passed out for several seconds. More than a few died.

So, What's the Milk Crate Challenge?

Here, take a look:

This challenge is being taken on all over the country, including right here in Illinois. Take a couple of minutes to go to YouTube and you'll probably see some Land of Lincoln geography in the background as people try to destroy their spinal cords.

Before you decide to run out and grab yourself some milk crates for your own yard, MilkCratesDirect.com wants to remind you that having those milk crates alone could be enough to get you into trouble:

Taking a milk crate for personal use may seem like a petty offence but the law takes it extremely seriously. The exact penalty varies from state to state but in general the discovery of stolen milk crates leads to a fine between $200 and $1000. In some cases, there could even be a short jail sentence too!
