Illinois’ Most Popular Ice Cream Flavor Has Got To Be Wrong
Just when you thought things couldn't get strange enough in our world, there's this insanity.
Not like it's the biggest issue we have going on right now, but seriously, I could use the distraction.
Personally, I love to be distracted. Too much time with my own thoughts is never a good thing.
One of my favorite things to use as a distraction is food. Eating food, cooking food, and debating food.
You can file this one under "debating food." That's because Instacart released some data on each state's favorite ice cream flavor.
Before you say "It's obviously vanilla." Keep in mind, it's America's favorite flavor.
Because vanilla is hands down the most purchased ice cream flavor in every state — accounting for more than a quarter (26.2%) of all ice cream sales in the U.S. — we dug a little deeper to find out what people are buying when they step out of their vanilla comfort zone.
That said, I can't believe Illinois residents didn't list Mint Chip as their top choice.
Only Pennsylvania picked Mint Chip as their fave. For Illinois, and most of the midwest, Moose Tracks was the top choice when peeps feel like getting a little cray with their ice cream.
Moose Tracks was the most popular (second) choice in America topping the list in 12 different states including Illinois.
In case you don't know what the heck Moose Tracks ice cream is, Wise-Geek.com explains:
Moose Tracks® ice cream is a flavor of ice cream categorized by bits of chunked chocolate and peanut butter candies scattered through a vanilla base with ribbons of thick fudge.
Ring any bells? Maybe we've been low-key eating Moose Tracks for years but it was just called something else.
