Illinois Native Lands the Cover of ‘People’ Magazine’s Beautiful Issue

For years, People magazine has been naming their 'most beautiful' people, and this year they definitely got it right with this Illinois native actress. 

When you're a pop culture lover like myself, you believe People Magazine to be the number one place to get your celeb news.

Sure there are a few other big magazines that focus on the stars we love, but People does it the best.

And if you're a big People fan, you also know that every year they do a 'Beautiful,' issue.

It all began in 1990 with a 'People Extra' issue called 'The 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.'

Michelle Pfeiffer was the cover girl, with 49 other big names filling the issue. That year, People editors put together the list based on their opinions, submissions from readers, casting directors and modeling agents, according to People's website.

In case you're wondering, Julia Roberts has been the 'beautiful' cover girl four times including in 2017 when she was named the 'World's Most Beautiful Woman.'

Melissa grew up on a farm in Plainfield, which is about 90 minutes from Rockford. And apparently no one really calls her Melissa, she goes by 'Missy,' with her friends and family.

Family including Jenny McCarthy, who is her cousin, who you know... lives in St. Charles, Illinois with her Wahlburgers owning New Kid husband, Donnie Wahlberg.
