Illinois’ Most Popular New Year’s Resolution Will Shock You
Whether you're trying to break a bad habit, trying to get out of your comfort zone, or just want to have a long-term goal for 2024, New Year's Resolutions are always a great way to kick off a new year.
Personally, I want to be advanced in pool and shuffleboard. I have been playing both every day for the past month and I have improved so much! It takes a lot of strategy and patience for both sports, so I wanted to test my limitations going into 2024.
Resolutions don't always have to be big and extravagant - that's why I chose smaller goals to accomplish to make myself feel more accomplished!
Every state was studied and majority of states in America said they want to improve their fitness. Other popular resolutions around the country were these:
- 38% said they would like to improve their finances.
- 36% said they want to improve their mental health.
- 34% said they would like to lose weight.
- 32% said they would like to improve their diet.
"Forbes stated that most people keep their resolutions two to three months before they ditch them, with only 1% of those who set resolutions making it to 12 months." [forbes]
Where did Illinois fall on the list, though? Let's take a deep dive!
While Wisconsin is over here wanting more vacations in the near future, Illinois had a very different kind of goal in mind. This I can kinda get behind because I have been lacking in this department: finding love.
Yup, Illinoisans want to up their dating game in 2024. We're all hopeless romantics at heart, don't say you aren't! Check your search history - have you asked Google about dating advice or tips in recent months? I have... no shame.
Your goals are never too far out of reach, don't ditch your goals this year! Trust the process, believe! See the entire list here.
