Are Illinois Stores Skipping Fall & Heading Straight To Halloween?
For all you fall-loving, candle obsessed, pumpkin-spiced latte peeps, I'm not totally sure you'll see much fall-inspired decorations around your neighborhood this year.
Everybody and their mother have been preparing for Halloween since like last year and it's realllllly showing the closer we get to October.
From the looks of it on Facebook, more people are getting a head start for Halloween before fall even gets here - summer hasn't even ended yet!
Is it too soon? Is this normal? Someone give me answers!!!
Home Depot in Rockford already has an entire Halloween section available and I'm not sure how to actually feel about it. I get it, though. Gotta beat the competition!
My friend, Terri, works at Home Depot in Rockford and posted to Facebook that they're already setting up all their Halloween decorations... in AUGUST.
It makes me feel kinda bad for fall, but then again I do love walking around Halloween stores. I'm like this kid, always checking in to see when Spirit Halloween is going to open (lol). They're open 11am-7pm in Rockford if you were wondering....
The fact that Spirit Halloween is already open just proves we're skipping right over the sweater weather era and heading straight to Blood's Point and spooking ourselves willingly. I honestly don't hear anybody complaining though!
My mom would wait until September 22nd, right when fall OFFICIALLY started, to get her fall storage bin from her basement. Her decorations were fall-oween themed, so technically she killed two birds with one stone.
Well, what do you think? Are we just hopping on the Black Friday train and starting our Halloween celebrations earlier and earlier every year? If so, is that a bad thing?
Either way, I'll be over at Home Depot while you think about it.
