Small Illinois Town is Home to Beautiful 30 Acre Sunflower Field and Maze

Just off Route 173, in the small town of Hebron, Illinois, is the most beautiful sunflower spot I've ever seen. Illinois has several, but none like this.

Are you that person who sees everyone else's sunflower field photo posts on social media and wonders where they were taken? That's me every year.

While we have quite a few sunflower fields around northern Illinois, there is one 30-acre field that turned its sunflowers into a full-blown festival and you need to visit. And you really do have to plan your visit for sometime soon, as the sunflower only gives us a short window to come gaze and take amazing photos.

What a fantastic discovery on our way to Six Flags Great America along IL 173 in Hebron.

Von Bergen's Country Market

This place is so much more than just the spot for fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh market goods, and sweet corn. Von Bergen's is also the perfect place to be immersed in 30 acres dedicated to just sunflowers.

Sunflower Fest at Von Bergen's County Market

The 5th annual festival features sunflower fields for photos with tons of rustic props and two different mazes. Von Berger's even offers special times when you can book professional photoshoots.

There's even a brand-new lavender field and 'U-Pick' flower fields.

Don't leave the kids behind, they have a barnyard play area, farm animals, and barrel train rides on the weekends. The Farm Kitchen eating area features local food and drinks.

Sunflower Festival hours are daily 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. The last sunflower field entry is at 5:00 p.m. You can buy tickets on site, or online HERE. Tickets are $12, children 3 and under are free.
