Illinois Teen Asks To Be Adopted After Graduating In Heartwarming Video
Most graduates are looking for money to help with school, but for this girl, she wanted a father.
That's the story first told by CBS 2 in Chicago, where Plainfield resident, Lauren Hernandez, asked her mother's boyfriend to adopt her in a heartfelt letter.
The man, Joe Iosco, doesn't read the letter aloud but his reaction speaks louder than the words on the paper he's holding.
Obviously the people in attendance were in on the announcement but that doesn't take away from the tears and cheers that he and his new daughter received.
Hernandez's mother tells CBS 2, "When your kids are born, you automatically love them...he chose to do for her what he does for his biological daughters.”
Now it's just official; congrats to the happy family.
