It's just another troublesome step for the once-popular video game store, according to GameRant.

This just feels like one more nail in the proverbial coffin of GameStop toward closing up in almost every city in America.

How Long Has GameStop Been Closing Stores?

If you haven't been keeping up, a comprehensive list of GameStop closures, dating back to 2013 is online if you want to see how many once successful and thriving stores have closed up shop for good.

A dozen years later, the closures haven't stopped, as six more have been announced just this month in Illinois. They are:

• Store #2286 at Berwyn Towne Square, 6631 Roosevelt Road in Berwyn.
• Store #3593 at Collinsville Crossing, 1120 Collinsville Crossing in Collinsville.
• Store #545 at Rivercrest Centre, 13148 Cicero Avenue in Crestwood.
• Store #7734 at North Glen Shopping Center, 3022 South State Street Route 159 in Glen Carbon.
• Store #547 at Harwood Commons, 4715 North Harlem Avenue in Harwood Heights.
• Store #6494 at Melrose Park Shopping Center, 1501 West North Avenue in Melrose Park.

That's not all, as six GameStop locations in Wisconsin got shuttered, too.
