The temperatures are getting lower and so will your standards.

November's here and according to my single friends, it's time to start planning for the annual cuffing season. If you had the same reaction I did, "what the heck is cuffing season?", then let me get you caught up to speed. Cuffing season is the time of year when single people start giving up those hot, summer flings and start looking for someone to "cuff" themselves to for the winter.

What happened to just calling it "getting a winter boyfriend"? After all, that's really about how long they stick around for. Which is important to remember when you're picking your potential hibernation buddy; cuffing season is strictly for people who are only looking for a moderately special someone to endure the cold with. If you're hoping that it will turn into something more,  you should be warned, you'll probably be dumped right before Valentine's Day. I speak from experience on this one.

If you're single, you're not expected to participate in cuffing season. In fact, most people just opt to spend their time alone; with oreos, hot chocoloate and Netflix. That's how I spend my winter months and I'm married. But, if you're brave enough to head out into the cold to nail down that unsuspecting cutie to bring to all those holiday parties and family gatherings, the Elite Daily has some tips to ensure that you're cuffing season is a successful one. Happy hunting.
