Illinois’ Most Beautiful Natural Sight is a Humongous Rock Garden
If you love beautiful things, Illinois has some options and none are better than what amounts to a humongous rock garden that you can hike through if you're brave.
You could do a lot worse than the Illinois place the Love Exploring chose as the most beautiful natural sight in the state. It sits in the middle of 289,000 acres of gorgeous national forest land. It's called Garden of the Gods for a reason. This "garden" features rock towers.
Why Garden of the Gods is the perfect choice for Illinois' most beautiful sight
As the US Forest Service mentions, Garden of the Gods in southern Illinois has easy hiking trails that can easily be done in an hour or so and there are many really nice campsites that you can rent for as little as 10 bucks.
Love Exploring says Garden of the Gods is "rolling hills, sparkling lakes, rugged bluffs, lush forests, and open land, it is a dreamy sight" and they're not wrong. In Illinois, there really is no area that provides gorgeous sights for your eyeballs than this place and it's not that hard to access either.
