It's not unprecedented in Missouri to see a helicopter searching for someone. However, for one Missouri man, it was a harrowing experience to see a helicopter chasing something near the bike trail he was on only to learn later that it wasn't a someone, but a something they were after.

This reminds me of a 1983 movie called Something Wicked This Way Comes. It was apparently based on an old Ray Bradbury novel. The movie was set in a small town in Illinois where an evil carnival was causing people to disappear. This tale is similar except it's not a movie, but based on a real experience for one man in Missouri late at night on a bike trail.

According to Missouri YouTube channel Sasquatch Theory, this story is based on a man named Andrew from Missouri who encountered...something...while on his bike near Lake Wappapello State Park near Greenville, Missouri.

While I recommend listening to Andrew tell his full story on the YouTube share, the short version is this. He noticed a heavy police presence including helicopters while on a bike trail late one night with his dog. He could tell that the helicopter was desperately searching for something.

As Andrew was riding down the trail, he saw many US Army Corps of Engineers officers and a helicopter overhead. He looked up and saw what he describes as a 10 foot...something near this hill.

I won't giveaway all of Andrew's story, but suffice it to say that he's convinced they weren't chasing a person, but a...thing.

Is Andrew's Missouri tale a wild one? Yes, it is. But, I am convinced that he is telling what he believes to be the truth. Anyone who's willing not just to share their story, but appear on camera and show specific locations earns a lot of credibility in my book. He's not the only one who truly believes that something unusual lives in these Missouri woods and it would appear many in law enforcement in that area might agree.
