Eggs from Wisconsin Sold in Illinois Now Under Emergency Recall
If you picked up eggs in Illinois recently, you need to make sure they didn't come from Wisconsin as many are now under an upgraded emergency recall from the Food and Drug Administration.
I saw USA Today issue this updated recall status from the Food and Drug Administration for eggs that originated from Wisconsin that have links to salmonella which can cause serious illness among many. The eggs in question came from Milo's Poultry Farms, LLC in Bonduel, Wisconsin and they were widely available in Illinois.
The FDA emergency recall has now been increased and includes all eggs from that Wisconsin farm with all expiration dates which the bulletin says were available in Illinois. “Tony’s Fresh Market” branded eggs including all expiration dates are included in this recall now.
This is what the cartons look like.
The Food and Drug Administration warns that Salmonella can cause "arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis" and is especially dangerous for the very young, old and/or those with compromised immune systems.
The warning from the FDA warns anyone in Illinois that bought these eggs to NOT consume them. You can return them to the store they were purchased from or call the company at (715) 758-6709.
