An Iowa Donut Shop is One of the 10 Best in the Country for 2024

USA Today has released more results from its '10Best Readers' Choice Awards' for 2024, and we're happy to report that another Iowa business has been recognized!

Coming in at number five on USA Today's list of the best donut shops across the country is a place called The Bakery Unlimited in Winterset! The article reads:

"The air is sweet on the square in Winterset, thanks to The Bakery Unlimited. Try their maple bacon long john or a classic apple crisp doughnut, and expect to stand in line on Saturday mornings, because their doughnuts are just that good."

The Bakery Unlimited's Facebook page says that they are an "old fashioned bakery with products made from scratch," including donuts, bread, bagels, cake, muffins, and other goodies. One of their most popular items is their Red Delicious Apple Fritter, which is fitting, because the Red Delicious Apple was actually discovered in Madison County!

The Bakery Unlimited has 107 reviews on Google, with an overall rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars! User Annie Nau writes:

"I've lived in Seattle, Phoenix, Austin, Lincoln, and Salt Lake City . . . and these are some of the BEST donuts I've ever had. The cake donuts remind me of my grandma's. They are freshly made in small batches and with no preservatives."
