Turkey Starts Fire At A Home In Madison
I cook at least one meal just about every day. I'm not anywhere near the skill level of a professional chef, but I know enough to eat pretty decent meals. Luckily, I haven't had too many meal disasters. My grill caught on fire once, but there was no serious damage.

That incident did completely burn all the chicken I was making for dinner, but everything else was okay. It was my fault. I was trying to multitask, but I was distracted. Plus, I was trying to cook the food quickly, so the grill was running too hot. Put all those factors together, and what do you get? A night of eating out.
When the fire department arrived on the scene, the turkey was on fire in the oven, and it got so hot that it blew the door of the stove open. Flames were coming out of the appliance, too. The firefighters pulled the oven out of the kitchen, and everything was okay.

So, how did the turkey start on fire in the oven? The homeowner marinated the bird with tequila. Well, that has disaster written all over it. The high heat from the oven reacted with the tequila and started the fire. Plus, it blew the oven door open. This could've been a lot worse. Note to self, never cook with tequila.
