The Ultimate Celebration Of The Cowbell Coming Up In Wisconsin

The main place I've heard cowbells are at sporting events, especially high school, college, and minor league games. The fans will decorate them to go along with their favorite team's colors, uniforms, and mascots.

The cowbell got its 15 minutes of fame during the iconic "Saturday Night Live" sketch with Will Ferrell, Christopher Walken, and others. The scene was based on the Blue Oyster Cult song "Don't Fear The Reaper." Ever since then, it's become famous.
The cowbell has been big with Rockford IceHogs fans since the team started. Some of their rivals have also adopted the strange noisemaker too. The Milwaukee Admirals have sold over 15,000 team cowbells over the past 10 years.
The Admirals are taking their love of the cowbell to the next level this season. They will be changing their name to the Milwaukee Cowbells. Well, for two very special theme nights. The team will be wearing new jerseys for the occasion.
On February 25th, SNL alumni Chris Kattan will make a special appearance. He was also in that sketch. On February 28th, the team will give away cowbells to the first 6,000 fans through the gate. I'm guessing you'll hear some BOC both nights.
