Rockford Man Arrested on Strangulation Charge After Child Abuse Investigation
Rockford Police have charged a man with aggravated battery after he allegedly abused a teenager on South Central Avenue last year.
Officers were contacted about a report of abuse on Friday, October 21, 2022, in the 200 block of S. Central Avenue and found the victim was under 13 years of age, according to the RPD press release.
The Rockford Police Department followed up on the report of abuse with their Sensitive Crimes Unit and were able to identify 61-year-old Ronald Baldwin of Rockford as the suspect in the incident, who was known by the teenage victim, according to the press release.
Baldwin was charged with Aggravated Battery in a Public Way, and Aggravated Battery - Strangulation and was taken into custody on December 31, 2022. He is currently in custody in the Winnebago County Jail.
Rockford Police Charge 2 Men with Sex Crimes Involving a Minor
A Michigan man has been arrested and charged with Sex Crimes Involving a Minor after an investigation by the Rockford Police Department.
According to the press release, RPD officers were dispatched to investigate a sexual assault of a juvenile under the age of 13 in the 2600 block of Craig Hill Road.
Following an investigation by the Sensitive Crimes Unit, 39-year-old Dallas Held of Gladstone, Michigan was charged with 2 counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault. Held was taken into custody in Delta County, Michigan on December 15 before being transferred back to the Winnebago County Jail on January 4, 2023.
Rockford Police also arrested 23-year-old Carlos Roldan and charged him 2 counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse following an incident in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue on September 16, 2022 with a juvenile under the age of 13.
RPD says they arrested Roldan after an investigation by the Sensitive Crimes Unit that reported the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
Rockford Police say the charges against these men are merely accusations, and they are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
