A major Rockford street will be closed for water main work, with detours in place, beginning on Tuesday morning, September 30.

Multiple Closures Announced

According to a press release from the City of Rockford, both lanes of 9th Street in Rockford will close beginning at 7 am on Tuesday (9/30), between 11th and 12th Avenue, as well as between 0th and 10th Avenue.

These closures are part of an ongoing water main project along 9th Street.

Detours for Northbound Drivers

To ease traffic flow during the closure, all northbound drivers will be detoured westbound on 12th Avenue and 10th Avenue, then routed to 7th Street to continue north.
