Jeep Cherokee Production is Coming to Belvidere Plant
After announcing that the Jeep Patriot production will be moved to Mexico, now word is Fiat Chrysler plans to move Jeep Cherokee out of Toledo, Ohio to....?
According to a story published at mystateline.com, Fiat Chrysler's plan involves using the Toledo plant to produce their newly redesigned Jeep Wrangler pickup.
That left Fiat Chrysler with the task of moving production of the Cherokee, Jeep's best selling vehicle, to either their Sterling Heights, Michigan Assembly plant or to the Belvidere plant. Both plants could make the production switch with little to no retooling, according to Automotive News. Right now, the Belvedere Assembly plant is their choice.
For now we'll have to stay tuned for when that is scheduled to happen.
