After its first weekend, Zero Day, starring Robert De Niro as a former US President "called out of retirement to find the source of a deadly cyberattack," is tracking to be the #1 show on the popular streamer.

Ratings-wise, it's not exactly blowing everyone away, tracking at only 54% on Rotten Tomatoes, but then again, it doesn't matter because it's Netflix, and most of their TV shows and movies are unaffected by what critics think.

Besides De Niro, Zero Day has one of Hollywood's biggest casts of well-known names.

Jessie Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Dan Stevens, Matthew Modine, and Angela Bassett have large roles in the show.

Rochelle, Illinois native Joan Allen plays a big part in the show, co-starring as Sheila Mullen, the wife of Robert De Niro's George Mullen character.

Playing the wife of a US President isn't a first for Allen. She portrayed Pat Nixon in the Oscar-winning film Nixon, for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. That was the first of Allen's three Oscar nominations in her storied career.

Despite the so-so reviews, Zero Day is dominating the Netflix charts, showing once again that star power and intrigue can overcome lukewarm critical reception.

For Allen, this marks just another impressive addition to her already distinguished career, showcasing her skills alongside other Hollywood heavyweights.

So whether audiences are tuning in for the plot or the performances, one thing is sure: Zero Day has folks talking, and Allen's return to political drama is welcome.
