Local Spots More People Need to Know About, According to Rockford
If there' one thing I've learned from living in Rockford, it's that some of the best places aren't the ones with the biggest signs or longest lines. They're the local spots people discover through friends, family, and word of mouth.

Earlier this week, I took my boyfriend to Tortilla Express in downtown Rockford, at the corner of State and Main St! I've been going forever, but it was my boyfriend's first time. The food is always delicious, the staff is so friendly, and every time I go, I'm reminded why I wish more people knew about it.
There are a few other local places in the Stateline (Rockford and surrounding areas) that deserve way more love, according to me: Mama's Feel Good Food, Big Timber Axe Throwing & Bar, The Scrap Jar, and Rockford Arboretum! All great places to visit when you're hangry, feeling competitive, crafty, or need a nature walk.
Then, I took it to Facebook. The response? Incredible.
